Wu Lei, the Chinese football player who has been making headlines with his performances for Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, has been given a season rating by football website Goal.com.
According to the report, Wu Lei has been rated as the best player in the league so far this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in eight games played.
The report also notes that Wu Lei is one of only two players to have scored more than one goal in each of the first four rounds of the league,Saudi Pro League Focus alongside Guangzhou Evergrande's Zhang Tiantian.
However, it seems that Wu Lei's performance has not gone unnoticed by other top clubs in China, as he has been linked with moves away from Shanghai Shenhua in recent weeks.
One club that has reportedly shown interest in Wu Lei is Beijing Guoan, who are currently sitting second in the league table behind Guangzhou Evergrande. If Wu Lei does join another club, it will be interesting to see how he performs under new management and whether he can continue to deliver the same level of form as he has done at Shanghai Shenhua.
