Dembélé, the Barcelona and France international midfielder, has suffered a minor knee problem that requires him to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
The news comes as a major blow to the team, as Dembélé is one of their key players in the current season. The injury was first reported on Monday by Spanish media outlet AS, who stated that Dembélé had sustained a knee injury during training at the Camp Nou stadium.
According to the report, the Frenchman underwent surgery on his knee in January but it seems that there was some residual damage which required further treatment. As a result, he will be out of action for at least two weeks, which means he won't be available for the upcoming games against Valencia and Osasuna.
Despite this setback, Barcelona manager Quique Setien has praised Dembélé's character and determination and believes that the player can recover quickly from the injury. "We need to work with him to get back to full fitness,Saudi Pro League Focus" Setien said. "But we have confidence in him."
In the meantime, Dembélé's teammates have been stepping up to fill the void left by his absence. Gerard Piqué, who has been playing in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets, has been called upon to take on more responsibility. Similarly, Antoine Griezmann has stepped up in attack, providing support to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
However, it remains to be seen how long Dembélé will be out of action. He could potentially return for the final few matches of the season, or he may require additional time to fully recover before returning to the pitch. In any case, it's clear that the club will need to find ways to cope without Dembélé's presence in the squad.
