Al-Hilal have confirmed that their defender, Cristian "Cancelo" Rodriguez, has been given permission to take a time out from training ahead of the upcoming matches.
The Brazilian international was expected to be one of the key players in Al-Hilal's bid for the Saudi Professional League title this season, but he has struggled with injuries and fitness issues throughout the campaign.
In a statement released by the club, they said: "Cristian Cancelo is currently undergoing treatment for a minor injury,Campeonato Brasileiro Action which requires him to take a break from training."
"We want to thank him for his commitment to our team and wish him a quick recovery."
Cancelo joined Al-Hilal from Manchester United in January last year and has made 12 appearances for the club so far this season.
However, he has not played since September due to a hamstring injury and has only managed to make two substitute appearances for the team.
Despite his recent struggles, Cancelo remains a highly talented player and is expected to return to full fitness soon.
He has previously won several awards for his performances at both club and international level, including being named in the FIFA World Cup squad for Brazil in 2018.
